Portable Spas plus... provided a Sarena Bay for 104°F heat therapy and a Lotus Bay for 55°F cold therapy. McDonald, who owns his hot tub business with his wife Lill and daughter Monet, says "We are blessed, honored and thrilled to have been referred to the NFL". Al Bellemy, the Detroit Lions Head Athletic Trainer was the one who referred McDonald to fill the needs of the Pittsburgh Steelers during their practice sessions. Portable Spas plus. has been a family hot tub business since it started in 1984. Their customers include more than 5,000 very important individuals, including the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Red Wings, the Detroit Pistons and the Troy Sports Center . They are well known for their award winning customer C.A.R.E. program and their desire to treat each customer as if they were a family member. Hot tubs are primarily used for the relief of stress, tension and muscle fatigue as hot water hydrotherapy helps to stimulate blood circulation while creating endorphins, the body's natural pain killers. Hot water therapy has been utilized since Greek and Roman times to promote good health and healing and is ideal for chronic pain, joint pain and sore, stiff muscles. Hot water quiets and soothes the body, slowing it down. Cold, in contrast is invigorating and stimulating to the body. Cold therapy is used by professional athletes to treat overuse injuries, sprains and strained muscles. It is the best treatment for acute injuries because cold therapy reduces swelling. John Norwig, Head Athletic Trainer for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ryan Grove, Assistant Athletic Trainer, had players using both hot tubs during and after Super Bowl XL practices. Spas were labeled with Super Bowl XL Logos and signed by Steelers Team Players and Staff Members. McDonald and his family are planning to auction off these hot tubs this March with portions of the proceeds going to help St. Jude Children's Hospital.
